I <heart> Dr. Ferber
The great experiment in CIO WORKED! It worked!!! OMG, I've never been so relieved in all my life.
We gave her a bath and her last bottle at 7pm. Hubby put her in the crib wide awake at 7:20pm. Fussed for a minute and fell asleep. She woke up at midnight and hubby gave her one more bottle of formula (we're easing into the CIO. Next week we'll work on abandoning the midnight feeding). Now, usually, after that she wakes up on the button at 2:30am, 5am and 7am.
2:30am rolls around and like clockwork she wakes up and starts crying. We ignore her. She cries for about 20 minutes, on and off, and eventually drifts back off to sleep.
5am rolls around and she starts to make noises in her sleep like she's going to wake up, but she never did!
I woke up at 6am, looked in the monitor and to my amazement she was STILL asleep! I showered, got ready, looked in the monitor at 7am and she was wide awake, but just playing in her crib, which she NEVER does.
I just hope this lasts tonight. With Alex, the first night is always easy. It doesn't get miserable until the second or third day, when she's figured out that mommy and daddy are changing her routine Wish us luck!!!

In absolute desperation, we started supplementing with formula this week. One bottle at bedtime... I thought she would totally reject it because I've been EBF for 5 months now, but she chugged the formula like she never has with the breastmilk! I was a little offended!
